The masked world is the underground world of clandestine/hidden identity.
Showing one's face to the world is the identity face.
That is why in all the things that society shuns, even porn for instance,
Mask use there is very common.
Only the face or portion of the face is masked to cover the identity,
To make oneself generic and invisible.
It is like that V for Vendetta kind of mask.
Even political rebels, societal rebels, wear masks.
A person too different, may want to wear a mask and move around.
